5,000 years before the informatic revolution initiated the ever-growing tsunami wave of videogames, humans in the regions of Fertile Crescent were gathering to play board games. The inner dynamic principles of those ancient games are the same that continue to attract players to this day. Reason for this is that gameplay is deeply rooted in the human nature.
The goal of the course Analogue Game Design is to research the core game mechanics of important board, card and dice games, both classic and contemporary, and to creatively implement this insight in development of own game projects.
Students will acquire the knowledge for Concepting, Design, Development and Presentation of their games. At the end of the course the game-concepts and prototypes could be elaborated.
